In 2020, I created the perfume, Seeking Balance, in collaboration with multi sensory artist, Erika Senft Miller, who painted an accompanying artwork for its release.
Coming on the heels of the COVID epidemic, Seeking Balance was created with aromas of calming and centering ingredients such as lavender, rose, jasmine, and vetiver, among others, meant to help us during that unsteady and out of balance time. To make room for new scents, I “retired” this fragrance in 2023. (As an artisan perfumer, I create my formulas and produce my own perfumes. The more scents you create, the more you have to keep up with! It can get overwhelming, thus the necessity of moving some out of production.)
These days, when things seem tumultuous once more, I have decided to launch a limited edition of Seeking Balance. While containing the same beloved ingredients that it has in the past, I have reformulated it to contain another beautiful and grounding material, sandalwood from India.
I will be making one batch of this beauty, so get it while you can!
Top Notes: Bergamot, Mandarin Green, Lemon, Galbanum CO2
Middle Notes: Lavender absolute and maillette, Rose Bulgaria, Geranium, Jasmin, Cassie Abs, Orris Butter
Base Notes: Patchouli, Oakmoss, Labdanum, Vetiver, Vanilla, Carrot Seed, Sandalwood India, Tonka Bean, Musks
Despite its 25% concentration, Seeking Balance wears close to the skin, in keeping with its intent to be a calming and centering fragrance.
